Pedigree profile of Rivendell Juniper Moon
D.O.B. xx/xx/xxxx - Jack Sparrow x Lancier x Lauries Crusador xx
Juniper Moon was imported in utero from Germany in order to get the genetics of her sire into the country. Juniper Moon is by the stallion Jack Sparrow.
Jack Sparrow is a very good looking stallion, with a great character and a willingness to work that has brought him to the fore of the 2011 4yr old series in Holland. In the qualifiers for the Spring 2012 5yr final, he won the classes in Hengelo, Roosendaal and Zuidbroek, and came 2nd in Deurne. Edward Gal said of him “President's Jack Sparrow gave me the first time the feelings I look for - power, agility, flexibility and resilience. He has all the qualities I look for in a horse - he can turn huge in his movements, and has a good working attitude and high character”.
Father Johnson starts his Grand Prix career in 2012 under Hans peter Minderhoud, and is representing Holland in the Rio Olympic games 2016. Damsire Wolkentanz II has qualified for the Bundeschampionat twice.
Jack Sparrow mirrors the attributes of his father - long legs, very athletic, and much power in the body. Johnson is turning into a powerful sire, with first Bretton Woods and then Jack Sparrow taking Holland by storm in subsequent years.
Dutch Grand Prix rider Patrick van der Meer has received the ride on the 8-year old black Oldenburg stallion Jack Sparrow (by Johnson x Wolkentanz II x Don Primero). The stallion was once hailed as a potential successor to Totilas for Edward Gal.
Dutch Carolyn de Roo-Kooiman and her husband Ron aquired Jack Sparrow in September 2011 for Edward Gal to ride. A major media campaign was started to promote the horse as a breeding stallion in The Netherlands and Germany, even though the horse never completed the licensing process.
Jack Sparrow was originally licensed at the 2010 South German Under Saddle Licensing but this approval was withdrawn in 2011 as he did not complete the mandatory 30-day performance test.
De Roo has now announced that Jack Sparrow has moved in training with Patrick van der Meer, who also rides the KWPN licensed stallion Chagall (by Jazz x De Niro) for this owner. The Oldenburg stallion will need to achieve 3 placings at S-level to achieve licensed status in Germany.
Juniper Moon’s dam is a Hannoverian mare by Lancier, who is by Lauries Crusador xx, the 2006 Hanoverian Dressage Stallion of the Year.
Lauries Crusado xx was born in England in 1985 and began his career on the track. He achieved a handicap of 90.5 kilograms (200 lb) which opened the doors for him to warmblood breeding in Germany. The late renowned stallion owner, Maas J. Hell, discovered the bay, and thanks to his good relationship with the Hanoverian State Stud director at the time, Dr. Burchard Bade, Lauries Crusador xx was brought to the Niedersaechsische Landgestuet in 1991 where he became the first non-Hanoverian sire in the Hanoverian breeding program.
Almost no other Thoroughbred has influenced German warmblood breeding as this English sire has. For the Hanoverian Society, 2406 offspring have been registered, 248 daughters have been honored as States Premium Mares, and 55 sons have been licensed. In Celle, some of his best sons are at home; above all, Londonderry with his sons, Londontime, Lauscher, Liberty Gold and Lorenzio.
In sport, Lauries Crusador xx stands for pure performance.
Le Bo, ridden by Carola Koppelmann, was 3rd in the 2005 German National Championships. The former Hanoverian Elite auction horse, Lesotho, was a member of the Olympic gold medal team in Athens under Ellen Schulten-Baumer. Louis Heslegard, ridden by Gerda Lehmann, was on the Danish Olympic team, and at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Le Primeur, competed for Switzerland under Marie-Line Wettstein.
